Developing Your Marketing Strategies
"If you build it, they will come" is a horrible strategy.
Now that you have a great Web site, how do you market it? Online marketing
can come in a variety of different formats, and the best marketing
solution for one Web site may be very different from another. For example,
marketing for an Pediatrician website will vary greatly from the marketing
approach best suited for a retailer selling products over the internet. Our
Solutions Consultants can help you develop a marketing plan of your
project.
Your
marketing plan must include both short-term and long-term strategies
in order to succeed.
Short term marketing strategies are those that bring you a temporary
boost in traffic. Although these techniques are very important to your
over-all plan, they are only a temporary traffic source and must not
be solely relied upon.
Short term marketing strategies include:
- Purchasing advertising
- Bulletin Boards
- Search Engines
Long term marketing strategies are those that bring you a steady stream
of targeted traffic over time. These strategies will continue to produce
results even years down the road.
Long term marketing strategies include:
- Opt-in Mail / Newsletter Lists
- Offering Freebies
- Dynamic Content
Search Engine Marketing
A crucial element of nearly every web marketing strategy is search
engine optimization (SEO) and paid search engine marketing.
Generally we approach SEO by first evaluating and adjusting the "friendliness" of
your Web site. We work with you to make sure that the leading search
engines can effectively crawl through your Web site and list you under
applicable search terms and phrases. Then we can work with you to
devise and carry out a paid placement campaign. This is for the "sponsored" links
that you'll often find in your search engine results. Depending on
your online goals, one or both of these approaches may be key to your
success.
Of course, a complete marketing solution will include additional efforts
aside from just search engine initiatives. Fortunately, We are there
to help too. Contact a solutions consultant to learn more.

Multi-Touch Computer Screen Demo
This is a MUST SEE! I came accross this video just after Apple announced the iPhone. This is probably the single coolest bit of technology I have learned about of since Apple came out with the GUI interface. Jeff Han is a research scientist for New York University's Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences. In this video he demonstrates his intuitive, "interface-free," touch-driven computer screen, which can be manipulated intuitively with the fingertips, and responds to varying levels of pressure.
