Web Application Developer
Per Diem Web developers are needed to implement and support
several portal projects and will require an excellent grasp
of web related technologies and a solid foundation in software
development and support. This position requires the ability
the developer to produce and deliver on several workflow, ColdFusion
and portal technologies and quickly understand and overcome
technology systems integration challenges.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop, deploy and maintain mission critical web applications
within a portal environment and involves extensive enterprise-wide
systems integration.
- Participate in the design and development of multiple web
applications
- Offer technical consultation during the planning of web
projects
- Maintain and understanding of existing and emerging technologies
- Collaborate with various clients to define business requirements
- Able to assimilate with a growing team of fast moving,
motivated developers
Required Technical Skills:
- Strong development skills and proficiency (2+ years) in
ColdFusion 7
- Must be proficient (2+ years) in database design with hands
on production and work experience with MS SQL
- Must be able to decipher undocumented code and document
appropriately
- Must have a high competency level in general web programming,
web protocol, and scripting languages including the following:
- HTML, (with the ability to hand code HTML) D/HTML
- CFC’s
- CSS
- Com Objects
- Flash
- Javascript
- XML
- API’s
- Section 508 compliancy
- LDAP
Experience:
- Experience working in a rapid development environment creating
prototype and demonstration applications.
- Must have 2+ years experience delivering mission critical
solutions
- Must have experience in web enabled, distributed system
development
- Must have the ability to mentor others
- Must have excellent communication skills (written and oral)

Multi-Touch Computer Screen Demo
This is a MUST SEE! I came accross this video just after Apple announced the iPhone. This is probably the single coolest bit of technology I have learned about of since Apple came out with the GUI interface. Jeff Han is a research scientist for New York University's Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences. In this video he demonstrates his intuitive, "interface-free," touch-driven computer screen, which can be manipulated intuitively with the fingertips, and responds to varying levels of pressure.
